The general hook mechanism works inward at the moment a load is applied, and as the hook gets larger, the barb prevents it from penetrating. By setting the out-barb, it achieves a smooth insertion similar to that of a barbless rod, and the long throat and spout bend design has excellent retention power for hooked fish.
By setting the bait to out-barb, it is easier to eliminate the "squeak" phenomenon that is common with big baits, such as miscasting, strong winds, and overruns of lipless glide baits. Matte stealth gray is effective even on wary fish.
